GOfuel sponsored the Ladies in the annual Squadron Ladies Fishing Day and entered a prize winning team this month.
Competition categories were simple: Largest Snapper, Closest to the Average, largest other species and the best photos of the day. The boundaries were set with teams not allowed to go any further north than the areas between Browns Bay, Rakino Island and the Motuihe Channel.
All three teams had a fantastic day out on the water and caught a healthy number of fish. A highlight of the day was a large pod of common dolphins that joined us near Rakino Island.
Judi Dooling was the big winner with a 55cm Snapper, the largest caught on the day. Michelle Bush (GOfuel Team) took home the closest to average prize for her 38cm Snapper, and Michelle Henderson won the largest other species category with her 55cm Kahawai.
Prize for the most unusual fish was won by Nancy Taula (Gofuel Team) for her award winning ‘Glove’ fish! Nancy also won the largest fish on the GOfuel Team boat with her 52cm Snapper.
Other sponsors for the day included Burnsco Marine, Stoneleigh Wines, One Pure and Optimum Plumbing and Charity Look Good Feel Better.
